Meet Dawn

A writer who edits. An editor who writes.

My first article was published when I was nine years old. Since then I’ve published more than 30 books, been a Fulbright scholar, an NEH Fellow, and delivered a TEDx talk on how creatives will save the world. But what drives my practice is simpler: every writer deserves a guide who has been there.

What Writers Say After Working With Dawn

Five writers. Five different journeys. One thoughtful editorial partnership.

01
Dawn has been very helpful to me in my writing endeavors. Her suggestions and comments have helped tighten my prose and answer all necessary questions related to plot. She’s always available, whether for coffee and meetings or via text messages or phone calls. I can count on her.
JA Jafar Ali Novelist
02
Rewired Creatives was exactly what I needed to improve my manuscript dramatically. My editor, Dawn, provided me with a careful and critical reading that not only highlighted mechanical and grammatical errors, but also faulty reasoning, weak organization, and other challenges particular to my writing tendencies. She helped me transform my work into something I felt confident about submitting. I will be using Rewired Creatives again!
CM Christine M Novelist and essayist
03
I considered it a blessing the morning I met Dawn. I immediately felt at ease discussing the complex issues that were presenting themselves in my writing project. Dawn is an outstanding, accomplished and impeccable writer. The real depth and uniqueness for me reveals itself in Dawn’s ability to gently and with permission coach a journey which leads the author/writer to find lost pieces of themselves. Dawn is a gift.
KR Kathryn Vecchio Russell Vecchio Consulting Group, and memoir writer
04
Dawn Reno Langley is a sincere and humble teacher/editor. She is like a personal bodyguard who stands by your side and pushes you gently to complete a task. She listens, learns and understands your personality. With me, she quickly noticed a gentle push doesn’t always work, so a swift kick sometimes does the trick! My book, when completed, will be that much more polished with the skills and the direction of my amazing editor, I’m sure.
SD Shelly Devlin Award-winning hair artist and memoir writer
05
Dawn brings clarity, care, and a writer’s understanding to the editorial process. Her thoughtful guidance creates space for the work to grow while helping the writer move forward with greater confidence.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Quesitons

It depends on where you are in the process. If you’re still writing and need support along the way, coaching is the right fit. If you have a completed (or nearly completed) manuscript and want a professional evaluation, editing is the answer. Not sure? A free Discovery Call will help you figure out which one or if you need either yet.

Literary and commercial fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, children’s literature, poetry, essays, short stories, and business books genres Dawn has published in herself.

Developmental editing focuses on the story itself. Line editing refines your prose at the sentence level for flow and voice. Copy editing handles grammar, punctuation, consistency, and style. Most manuscripts move through these stages in order: big picture first, technical polish last.

It’s a free, 15-minute, no-pressure conversation about your manuscript, your goals, and what kind of support would help most. You’ll leave with honest guidance either way whether or not we end up working together.

Timelines vary by service a manuscript assessment takes 2–3 weeks, developmental editing 4–8 weeks, and line/copy editing 3–5 weeks. Coaching timelines depend on your project and pace. You’ll get specifics in your custom proposal.
